Philip Glen Straley, 66, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Born in Birmingham, AL, but New Orleans was his home until he moved to South Carolina in 1999. Phil was a registered nurse who worked in many areas of nursing but found his heart in hospice care where he finished the last ten years of his career. He was a lover of good food, classic cars, Credence Clear Water Revival, fine cigars and scotch. He had a passion for baking in his free time and was well known for his cheesecakes.  He loved all things LSU.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents: Dewey Edgar and Hazel Faust Straley; and his sister: Susan Straley Magill.

Phil will be sadly missed by his wife: Marie Gilbert Straley; Son: Eric Livingston; grandchildren; Christopher and Bailey Livingston; his brother: Beau (Cathy) Straley; niece: Straley Magill (Tate) Grafton; and two great-nephews and a niece.

Due to concerns for Covid 19, the service has been postponed and will be held at a later date.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Pam Vaugh, who helped care for him over the last year, and to Pruitt Hospice, who provided such loving care and support to him and his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pruitt Health Hospice Foundation.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
