Rhoda Johnston February 24, 1935 - November 27, 2023

Rhoda V. Johnston, 88, of Honea Path SC, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born on February 24, 1935, in Portland, Maine; she was the daughter of the late Mildred Rakestraw and the wife of the late Deane Johnston. Rhoda was a “people person”, loved to talk and never met a stranger; everyone knew her as “Granny”. She loved working Seek-a-Word books and loved eating sugar wafers cookies.

She is survived by her children: Mildred Rhodes, Patty Williams, Connie Arble (Kevin), Nancy Farrell (Robert), and Wally Ramar (Sandra); brother: Jim Rakestraw (Cathy);17 grandchildren and 30 great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is predeceased by a daughter: Teresa Quinn.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
