Richard Burriss Hanvey, 79, of Anderson, SC passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Born on November 28, 1939, he was the son of the late Roy and Elizabeth Hanvey and the husband to Betty Hanvey. Richard was a lifelong member of Middleton Road Baptist Church and was a lineman for 44 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Tammy Baker (Tony), Karen Goller (Steve), Kim Moorhead (Kyle), and Scott Hanvey (Tonya); siblings: Jeral Crowe, Patsy Adams, Albert Hanvey, and Linda Smith; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother: Marshall Hanvey.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Middleton Road Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Scott Hanvey. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, at the church, from 2pm – 3pm.
The family will be at the home.
