Roger Lee Herndon, 72, of Anderson, SC passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Anderson, SC on January 3, 1952, he was the son of the late Roy Herndon and Mary Kirby Herndon. Roger worked as a doffer in the textile industry. He was a loving, funny, and caring father.
He is survived by his children: Rhonda Herndon, Angela Herndon, Tracy Owens (Jeff), and Holly Maness; siblings: Jackie Herndon (Susan), Alan Herndon, and Patricia Sue Herndon; grandchildren: Johnny Lee Smith, Samantha Smith, Tammy Smith, Haden Herndon-Beasley, Nicole Kelly, Tanner Maness, Tianna Maness, Tory Maness, and Taveon McMillian; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former spouse: Linda Herndon; daughter: Tammy Herndon; and soulmate: Melissa Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday August 26, 2024, at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel. Burial to follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12pm to 1pm on Monday August 26, 2024, at the mortuary.
The family will be at 950 Cherry St Apt C6 Pendleton, SC.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
