Ruby Mayfield Hix, 96, of Anderson, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the home of her niece, Debra Wilson Haynie.
Born in Anderson, SC she was the wife to the late Pat Raymond Hix. She retired from Toxaway Abney Mill, was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, and attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple. She was known to many as “Aunt Ruby”.
She is survived by her son: George Hix; brothers: Thomas “P-nut” Mayfield and Donald Mayfield; sister: Mary Mayfield Wilson; grandchildren: Georgia Hix Wilson, Christopher Hix, Lisa Albertson Hand; 7 great-grandchildren; She was adored by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by sons: Raymond Julian Hix and Thomas Michael Hix; and sisters: Willie Mae Mayfield Hendrix and Esther Mayfield McLeese.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary, Downtown Chapel and will be officiated by Reverend Sam Duncan. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm – 2pm at the Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home of her niece, Debra Wilson Haynie.
