Ruth Kohler Wokeck, 88, of Greenville, SC went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018.
Born in Chicago, IL, to the late Helmuth and Natalia Domke Kohler, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arthur Carl Wokeck, and by her sister, Esther Emerick (Richard).
Before her vision and overall health declined, she was an active member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, where she served two consecutive terms as the President of the Women in the Church. She and her husband also led the “Whirley Birds” children’s group. She was a homemaker and mother.
She will be missed by her brother, James Kohler (Karen) of Plainfield, IL; three daughters: Cheryl Price (Edward) of Bolingbrook, IL, Susan Eastland (Newell) of Greenville, SC, and Donna Joy Wokeck of Mauldin, SC; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Pastor Curtis DuBose will officiate. A private burial will take place at the M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC where her husband is buried.
