Salvador De La Rosa, Jr., 74, of Anderosn, SC passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Anmed Health Medical Center.
Born on April 6, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA he was the son of Evelina Rautenberg and the late Salvador De La Rosa Sr and the husband to Sybil De La Rosa. Known to everyone as “Sal” or “Papa Sal” he was an avid musician who loved playing drums in his band from Miami, FL in his early years. He married the love of his life, Sybil, in 1991 and moved to Anderson in 1993 where he became a Saturday morning radio show host “T-Bone” at local radio station WANS on the T-Bone and Billy Bob Show. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and served in the US Air Force and was a Freemason.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his step-sons: Harvey Thrasher and Craig Minor; daughter: Selena Forrester; step-daughters: Felicia Lassiter and Marilyn Dove; brother: Eddy Cevvero; sister: Emma Coles; grandson: Benton Forrester; step-grandchildren: Jonathan Minor, Michael Minor, Joshua Minor, Keenan Minor, Heather Lassiter, Holly Lassiter, Kyle Lassiter, Ace Escobar, Deamy Escobar, Braden Dove, Jade Dove, Michael Dove, Kloe Dove, and Vayleigh Dove; and great grandchildren: Jayden Lassiter, Caleb Lassiter, Jace Escobar, and Ivy Minor.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother: Ray Cevvero; and granddaughter: Natalie Forrester.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Gethsemane Baptist Temple and will be officiated by Reverend Sam Duncan.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
