Sam Norris, 78, of Central SC, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Pendleton SC, on May 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Baylous Walker Norris Sr and Edith Pricilla Looney Norris. Sam served in the US Navy and Army as a Sgt First Class. He was the definition of a “family man, a husband, dad, papa and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Ann Lance Norris; children: Tina Dacus, Becky Blackwell (Wayne) and Michael Norris (Dana); brother: Pete Norris (Jenny); sister: Josephine Merck; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother and one sister.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Billy Ray Merck.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
