Samuel ‘Sam’ Jackson Bond, Jr., 69, of Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Born May 29, 1956, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel ‘Jack’ and Margaret ‘Ann’ Bond.
Sam graduated from McDuffie High School in 1974. He worked in the manufacturing industry for over 40 years with Dow Badische, BASF/Honeywell, and Michelin. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast from a young age. He loved riding his motorcycle and passed on that love to his wife and children. Sam also enjoyed customizing his truck, spending time with his family and was excellent at baking cakes. You could always count on Sam to lend a helping hand. He attended St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church.
Sam is survived by his wife of 47 years, Frances Hedden Bond, daughter Leslie Bond Stephens (Aaron), son Lieutenant Colonel Justin Bond (Alyson), and grandchildren Liam, Mia, Audrey, and Jessa Bond.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Bond.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of the Upstate for their exceptional service and care given to Sam over the last months of his life. Jen, Brittany, Susan, and Jan are the best care team ever!
Burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
