Samuel Richard Orr, 91, of Taylors, SC, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home.
Born on July 15, 1932, in Okmulgee, OK he was the son of the late John Edward Orr and Mary Virginia Tucker Orr. He was a Veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service.
He is survived by his wife: Marjorie Jo Huntsinger Orr, sons: Christopher Richard Orr and John Kelly Orr and wife Michele.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Robert Irwin Orr and John Tucker Orr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at North Hills Church, 4952 Edwards Road, Taylors, SC, with Pastor Alan Bunn officiating. Burial will be held at 2pm with Military Honors at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Church from 10am to 10:30am.
The family will be at the home.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Samuel´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Guavina SS-362.
