Sara M. Higginbotham, 78, of Iva, SC, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Antreville, SC on December 13, 1935; she was the daughter of the late Jim and Bessie Bell McConnell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva, the Phase Ten Club, the John
Frances Gray Order of the Eastern Star, and a faithful member of Underwater Aerobics at the Anderson YMCA.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Edward Higginbotham Sr.; sons: Edward Higginbotham, Jr., Rick Higginbotham, and Brad Higginbotham; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and brother Truman McConnell.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by 9 siblings.
The family will hold a memorial service 3pm on Sunday, November 23, 2014 officiated by Rev. Jerry Gray at the First Baptist Church of Iva with Eastern Star Rites.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Sunday from 1pm – 2:30pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family.
