Sidney L. Patience, 70, of Belton, SC, passed away on February 21, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
He was born August 14, 1954, in Virginia Beach, VA, the son of the late Leland and Emmie Patience. On March 16, 1977, he married his late wife Elleen Smith Patience.
He graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School and Tri-County Technical College. He worked for Wamsutta for many years before retiring in 2005. He enjoyed working on cars and fixing whatever was broken around the house. He was a member of the Anderson Radio Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Patience of Charleston, SC; stepson and daughter-in-law, Robert and Krissy Hall of Greer, SC.; grandchildren, Lewis Hall and Shannon Slagle of Greenville, SC; and Tyler Hall and Cheyenne Hawkins of Greer, SC; great-grandchildren Xavian, Brooklyn, Alina, Hadley, Haven, and Braxton; and many nieces and nephews.
He also had a special place in his heart for niece and caretaker Connie Manley; grandchildren Sanchez Richardson, Nate and Des Richardson, and Shanise Adams; and great-grandchildren Jazmone, Camron, Ashia, Reni, Kylie, Malachi, Mackenzie, Liliana, Jayce, Graysen, and Rhyland.
Mr. Patience was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Claudia Barbour, and a brother, Travis Patience.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 12:00 pm at West Pelzer Baptist Church in Pelzer.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Patience asked for a tree or flowers to be planted in his memory.
