Sloan McCuen March 7, 1941 - August 13, 2024

Sloan (Wallace) McCuen, 83, of Honea Path, SC passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at his residence.

Born in South Carolina on March 7, 1941, he was the son of the late R.A. and Ruth McCuen. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Margaret Long McCuen. Wallace was known as the best dad and papa a child and grandchild could have. His mission was to take care of his family and sow the seed of salvation wherever he went.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Janet L. Alewine (James /P-Nut); brothers: Jimmy Ray McCuen (Polly) and Benjamin Stanley McCuen (Shelby); daughter-in-law: Kelly McCuen; granddaughter: Jennifer Depetrillo (Rick); great-grandchildren: Kris, Amy, and Allee; he is also survived by his special pet “Little Bit”.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: Wallace Michael McCuen; brother: Lamar McCuen; and grandson: Matthew Aaron McCuen.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday August 17, 2024, at Chiquola Baptist Church, Honea Path, SC officiated by Pastor Ronnie Powell and eulogy by Rick Depetrillo. Private interment to follow at Garden of Memories.

Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday August 17, 2024, prior to the service at the church.

The family will be at the residence.

The family would like to offer thanks to Affinity Hospice for the love and care given to Wallace and the family.

Flowers are accepted but memorials can be made to Chiquola Baptist Church, 405 E Greer St Honea Path, SC.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
