Thelma Inez Bruce, 71, of Iva, SC, passed away on Saturday February 21, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Bruce and Elizabeth Duffell Simpson and a member of the Community Wesleyan Church, formerly Fellowship Wesleyan, in Iva, SC.
She is survived by her son: Curtis Gurley, daughters; Tammy Powell, Alethea Phillips (Jeff), Nancy Ramey (Paul), siblings; Jane Hanvey, Diane Craft and Charles “Sonny” Bruce, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her canine babies, Abby, Jake and Sissy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Shannon Gurley and daughter; Cherri Patterson and sister; Charlotte Terry.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Tuesday February 24, 2015 at the Community Wesleyan Church of Iva, SC and will be officiated by Pastor Ron Rogers. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Alethea at 413 Hunters Creek Blvd, Greenwood SC.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
