Thomas Austin Lewis, 78, of Iva, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Hartwell, Ga, on April 8, 1939, he retired from Piedmont Mechanical as a welder. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, shooting and farming.
Surviving are his wife of over 53 years: Linda McMullan Lewis of the home; Daughter: Vickie Young and husband Barron of Iva; granddaughters: Nicole and Jolee Young of Iva; Nieces: Teresa Brickle and Missy Rice of Iva; and Nephews: Ricky Dixon, David and Jesse Wood of Texas.
He was the son of the late Bill Lewis and Opal Neese Lewis and was preceded in death by his brothers: Albert and Homer Lewis and sister: Sara Templet.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday December 31, 2017 at the Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory Iva Chapel with burial to follow at the Iva City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm prior to the service Sunday at the Iva Chapel.
The family will be at the home.
