Thomas E. Minyard, 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Born on September 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Dewitt and Eunice Ivester Minyard. He was a veteran of the Air Force and Army Paratroopers, 82nd Airborne Division. He attended Forrest College and retired from Owens Corning. Thomas was a member of the North Anderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a Mason and Shriner. He was an avid sportsman having boxed and played baseball and golf.
He is survived by his wife Betty Minyard; son Chris Minyard (Gayle); daughters: Dianne Brown (Jimmy), Cathy Freeman, and Angie Brown (Ron); 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his siblings: Dewitt Minyard, Jr. and Bobby Chapman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 10 am to 11 am at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel.
A Memorial Service will follow that Thursday afternoon at 2pm at Flat Rock Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Joe Stansell and Rev. Bill Rigsby.
The family will be at the home.
