Thomas Eugene ‘Gene’ King, 86, of Anderson, SC, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at West Village Post-Acute.

Born in Oconee, SC on February 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Wylie and Ruby Mize King.  Gene was loving and faithful to his friends and family always being there for support. His pride and joy were his grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren.  You could say he was the life of the party and you would never fail to laugh at his witty service of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Page; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by a son, Randall Eugene King.  Gene was the last son of 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel officiated by Pastor Mark Daniel.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Deborah Page, and will receive friends prior to the service on Friday at the Mortuary from 1pm-2pm.

A heartfelt thanks to his caregiver, Kristy Bobo, who gave Gene such wonderful and personal care.

Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel officiated by Pastor Mark Daniel.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Deborah Page, and will receive friends prior to the service on Friday at the Mortuary from 1pm-2pm.

    Hi i just seen this and gene was a friend of my daddy and mom Mr Herman Louise Brown and he had many trailers he had moved for me i got to drive his red trans am when young he was such a happy person and he was a good friend to our family god eugene if i knew i sure would not have missed your service you all are in my prayers and deepest condolences and he was a very hard working man like my daddy Herman Brown and his brother layton they all grew up together i am glad to have seen this iam very saddened by him going to be with the lord i hope you all have comfort during this difficult times god bless Vickie and Mark Brown of Fairplay sc
