Veda Lenora “Mawmaw” Maroney, 87, of Starr, SC passed on Thursday September 14, 2023.
Born on June 25, 1936, in Bevier, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Edison Posey and Mildred Posey, and wife of the late Fred Larry Maroney Sr. Mawmaw was a beautiful angel on earth, faithful servant of God and the epitome of God’s love. She was an amazing cook that gave and gave to everyone and the definition of tough in every way. Her family was unbelievably blessed by her unconditional love.
She is survived by her sons: Larry Maroney Jr (Laranda), Scott Maroney (Joy), Kenny Maroney (Denise); daughters: Lisa Maroney Wiles (Monty); 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she is predeceased by her brother: Paul Posey.
Graveside services will be held at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery on Friday September 22, 2023, at 10am.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday September 21, 2023, at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Lisa Maroney Wiles.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
