William “Ken” Chitwood, age 68, of Anderson, SC, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Born January 15, 1957, in Anderson, SC, to the late Marvin and Bitty Smith Chitwood, Ken was a retiree of the City of Anderson Recreation Department. He enjoyed fishing with his grandson, restoring vehicles alongside his brothers, and watching wrestling. Ken cherished his Orr Mill heritage and family, and took great pride in being a graduate of Faith Home in Greenwood, SC. He was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah Chitwood (Tio Moss); siblings, Alice Chitwood Lawrence, Bud Chitwood (Sharon), and Joey Chitwood (Maranda); and grandchildren, Shekinah Glory Moss, Naliyah Mikalah Moss, and Messiah Tio Moss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Colton Chitwood, and a grandson, Micah Zane Chitwood.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., with Melvin Powell officiating at New Silverbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mortuary.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Alice Chitwood, in Williamston, SC.
