Alph Caldwell Jr. January 14, 1944 - March 11, 2024

Alph Caldwell Jr., 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday March 11, 2024.

Born in Belton, SC on January 14, 1944, he was the son of the late Alph Caldwell (Hilda) and Julia Mae Caldwell. He was the husband of the late Mary E. Caldwell. Alph retired from SCDOT and loved his family very much, he was also a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his son: Dean McConnell; daughters: Darlene Cleveland (Lee), Ann Turner, and Lynn McAlister (Tommy); brother: Snag Caldwell; sister: Syble Pierce (Allen); 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, step-mother, and wife, he is predeceased by 5 siblings and his son-in-law: Brad Wardlaw.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2024, at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel officiated by Dr. L. Brent Lollis with a private entombment at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery to follow.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday at the mortuary at the South Chapel from 1pm to 2pm.

The family will be at the residence.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
