George “Cookie” Cook December 11, 1935 - January 4, 2023

George “Cookie” Cook, 87, of Anderson SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Born in New York on December 11, 1935, he was a locksmith, a musician often playing his bass guitar and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Opie Cook; sons: Michael,  Jimmy and Roland; daughters: Edie, Kathy, Susan, Tina and Kristi; brother: Johnny; sisters: Jackie and Marilyn; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel from 3pm to 5pm.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

    You made huge impact on me more than you ever knew. You and Opie welcomed me the minute I met you. It was honor to briefly know you cookie! Thank you for making Susan smile these past 4 years. Until we met again dear Cookie I can hear you shredding on the red Bass right now. My prayers are with your family daily.

    You were a super nice person, Grant love you more than any of his brothers, I have never seen a close friendship than the two of you. Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again. The children will take care of Opie, you can be sure of that.
