Arthur Robarge, 102, of Anderson, SC died after a brief illness on April 24, 2014.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts; he was a decorated WWII combat veteran. First Sergeant Robarge was assigned to the 28th infantry Division. He was a business agent with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and active in Democratic politics in Norwich, Connecticut. After retiring to Anderson, SC he became active in Cobbs Glen Country Club and the YMCA.
Mr. Robarge is survived by his wife of 76 years, Mary; a son: Dr. Arthur Robarge and wife Janet; grandson: Richard Robarge and wife Karli; and great grandson: Tyler Robarge.
As a lifelong Catholic, a memorial mass officiated by Father Joseph Ignacious will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 1:30 PM. Military Honors will follow at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
