Fred Oliver Burgess, 86. Of 607 Greenview Dr. Anderson, SC went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2014 at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born on April 7, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Rossie Amanda Simpson Burgess. Mr. Burgess would tell his greatest achievement was his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter Sheila Powell and husband Joseph; grandchildren: Amanda Martin and Haley Harbin; great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kaylee, Isaac, Kingston, and Mason Neal; and sisters: Irean Wilson and Ethel Burton.
In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by 1 brother and 6 sisters.
Services will be held at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 officiated by Pastor Kiki Tant of New Life Christian Life Center.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm – 2pm Downtown on Tuesday.
Flowers are optional, donations can be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621 or in memory of Mr. Burgess do something nice with your father.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family.
