Barbara Mullinax Rumsey August 11, 1950 - June 25, 2024

Barbara Mullinax Rumsey, 73, of Starr, SC, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, SC on August 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Dorothy Mullinax, she was the wife to the late James Willis Rumsey Jr. Barbara was a loving widow, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her son: Jason F. Cobb; step-son: Keith Rumsey; step-daughters: Angela Rumsey (John) and Kelly Rumsey Chappell (Greg); brother: Bo Mullinax (Marsha); sister: Freda Worley; step grandchildren: Tyler Human (Raqueal), Jada Rumsey, Camryn Human, Brandon Human, Hannah Human, Emily Human, Chloe Human, Kellsie Rumsey, Chase Rumsey, McKenzie Rumsey Burdette (Tanner), Jamie Young, Drew Chappell, and Kayla Wentzky; and step great-grandchildren: Hollie Chappell, Jemma Grace King, Jenna-Lee King, Julian Human, Greyson Lovely, and Blaine Burdette.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother: Ricky Mullinax; sister: Carla Armstrong; and stepdaughter: Kimberly Rumsey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel. A private burial will take place at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1pm to 2:30pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the mortuary.

The family will be at her residence.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
