Betty Sue Yates, 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Born on March 9, 1951, in Anderson, SC; she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Harrison Crocker and married to Gerry M. Yates. Betty was devoted to her faith in the Lord as a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. Betty was known for the love she had towards her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would do anything for them and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Gerry; she is also survived by her children: Gerry ‘Michael’ Yates, II (Susan), Wendy L. Hanna, and Cindy J. Yates; brothers: Tommy Crocker (Jane) and Kenneth Crocker; sisters: Barbara Weldon, Judy Hanks, Patsy Griffey (Louis); grandchildren: Adam Hanna, James Hanna (Ashley), Krista Turner (Jeremy), Lauren Yates; and great-grandchildren: Waylen Hanna, Jaylen Hanna, Hudson Hanna, Logan Hanna, Jase Turner, and Hudson Turner.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by an infant brother, Jerry Crocker; sister, Glenda Brown; and grandparents: Zinnie Smallwood, Ruben Harrison, William Crocker, and Beatie Jennings.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory at 2pm officiated by Pastor Doug Ferguson. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be located at the home and will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1pm – 2pm at the Mortuary.
