Bobby Hugh “Pop” Matthews, 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his home.
Born on August 29, 1940 in Washington, Ga, he was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Matthews and husband to Cornelia Matthews.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Daughters: LeAnn (Mike) Harbert, Roxy (Jeff) Meyer, Carol (Jason) Dickerson and Tiffany Matthews; Brother: Danny Matthews; Grandchildren; Laynie (Keith) Lanier, Matt (Brittany) Meyer, Jonn (Brandi) Harbert, Josh Harbert, Jesse Harbert; as well as six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children: Tina and Kenneth Matthews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday September 2, 2015 at the Oakdale Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. David Blizzard. Burial will be follow in the Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm prior to the service, Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oakdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 6724 Hwy 24, Townville, SC, 29689.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
