Danny R. Wooten, “Hoss”, 76, of Anderson SC, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his residence.
Danny was born in Anderson, SC on September 13, 1949, to the late Samuel and Clattie Hall Wooten. He retired as a meat cutter and was the final owner of Yons Food Store. As a passionate Clemson supporter, Danny was a true Clemson Tiger Fan. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt, and loved all kinds of sports, sometimes watching two games on television at once.
He is survived by his brother: Charles E. Wooten (Willie M. Wooten) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings: Jack C. Wooten, Annie Sue Cox, Betty Jo Novak, James E. Wooten, Sam T. Wooten, Herman N. Wooten, F.D. Wooten, Bobby L. Wooten, and William E. Wooten.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 1pm to 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory.
A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with Pastor Tommy Wooten officiating. A private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes.
