James David Watson, 66, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2026.
Born on November 11, 1959, in San Bernardino, CA, he was the son of James Franklin Watson and the late Jo Ann Lovely. James was a 20-year Veteran of the US Air Force as well as an employee of the Veteran Affairs Office, he was very dedicated to his Job and always willing to go the extra step to help active duty, veterans and their dependents as well as his coworkers. He was such a big part of the VA/Veterans Benefits Fort Bragg team that he was truly missed when he retired.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his Children: William J. Watson (Lexi) and Adria D. Watson; and Sister: Patsy Hackett.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his Wife: Melanie S. Watson.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Sosebee Mortuary Chapel, 3219 South Main St, Anderson, SC, 29624. Interment will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery will full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, from 12pm to 1pm, prior to the service Wednesday.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
