Diana D. Harrison June 18, 1941 - December 16, 2023

Date of Funeral

February 3, 2024
Diana D. Harrison, 82, of Anderson, SC, despite her resilience, she could no longer battle dementia and the health issues that come with it. She left us peacefully Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Diana was born in London, England during WWII to Eliza Newman and George Davey.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Delmar L. Harrison. By her daughter, Denise L. Harrison (Catherine); Son, Paul E. G. Harrison (Tish); Granddaughters, Ivy Lynn Harrison and Mara D. Todd (Steven); Great Grandchildren, Laira, Jace, Addalynn, Kolton, Nora, Brooklynn, Caelynn; Step Grandchildren, Savanna, Emylee and Reign; family and friends in SC, England and all around the world.
Our lovely Mum, Nana, and wife had a smile that would make you smile back, words of wisdom to uplift and guide you, the best shortbread to brighten your Christmas, and she believed there was no problem a cup of tea could not solve. Diana was known for her gorgeous scarves that jazzed up a simple outfit. She just had her own style and flair.
Diana came to the United States in 1961 from London, England when she married Delmar L. Harrison at All Saints Fulham Church. Leaving immediately after the wedding to a country that she had never been to and knew no one but Delmar. That takes great courage, love and trust to leave behind family, friends and all you know.
Diana and Delmar traveled the world via Delmar’s military career in the Air Force and subsequent assignments with Northrop and Lockheed. Diana worked as a Dental Hygienist and/or Administrator in the many places they were stationed. They finally settled in SC, Delmar’s home state.
Diana worked for Clemson University in the Agronomy and Biology Dept for 25 years as an Administrator supporting eight to ten professors. She took great pride in her every day work and especially being an Administrator for the Annual Biology Merit Exam for those up and coming students. She loved the faculty and staff she worked beside through the years. Establishing lasting friendships and bonds with many. Most of all, she loved being there for students, faculty and staff that were new to the United States and/or away from their family for the first time. She made sure they knew they were not alone and they had a friend in her. Many times a “Mum” away from home to some as well.
Diana is the bridge that kept our family in the United States, England and abroad connected through her constant effort to stay updated and in touch. She deeply loved her family and friends.
Diana is beauty, class, intelligence, grace, kindness and then some. She loved her tennis, movies, Broadway, theatre and had an eclectic love of music. Our “Lady Di” is amazing and now in the heavens watching over us all.
In honor of her we request you wear your Sunday best to her Service.

Our very own “Lady Di” was more royal and elegant and kindhearted than the entire royal family combined. Atleast to us Jacksons. Life long friends to my mother and father Laura & Donald Jackson, Diana & Delmar you meant the world to my parents. Delmar, I assure you my Mom & Dad have greeted your lovely partner of 62 years with hugs & kisses and tea (maybe even a boddington beer)
I am so sorry I am unable to be there with you , as you were here with us for our mom’s passing.
Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you and the family today. Stay in touch and let us know how we can best honor your wife Diana. She stood in our family kitchen and toasted our mum with me upon her passing… I will do the same today for them both…Classy ladies:) I hope you find more laughter than tears as you & the family remember her.
    Love – Johnny Jackson
