Doris Glenda Braswell went to her heavenly home on January 25, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. She was the partner of Greg Young, and the two of them shared 40 years together. Born in Jackson County, NC, she was the daughter of Roy and Myrtle Coggins and sister of Gary Coggins (Sandy).
She attended Cullowhee High School and was an employee of Meyers-Arnold as a fashion buyer and as a financial advisor at Chris Logan Beauty College, but her passion was interior design. She decorated for many friends and family members from South Carolina to Texas, and many places in between. Doris will always be remembered for being there for her friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as often as she could, and it was not out of the ordinary for her to come to visit with pictures and furniture in tow because she “had just the spot for it.”
She is survived by her partner Greg Young, sons Rusty (Patty) and Robbie, stepson Jeffrey Young (Tracy), grandchildren JC, Chad (Melissa), Lindsay (Nick), Brandon (Sonja), Meghan (Brian), Miranda, Ty (Rebecca), Blake, Austin, and Andrew, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents.
The visitation will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Sosebee Mortuary Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the mortuary.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
