Dovie Morton December 9, 1931 - December 12, 2024

Dovie L. Morton, 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born on December 9, 1931, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Margaret Suttles Long. Dovie was well known as a very opiniated person; never had to guess what she was thinking. She will be missed.

She is survived by her children: Geraldine Morton, Dennis Morton, Elain Morton Hall (Larry) and Clifford Morton (Beverly); brother: Earl Long; sister: Pearl Goss; 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a daughter: Nancy Morton Ayers; brothers: Grady Long, Conrad Long, Ray Long and Jim Long; as well as her sisters: Louise Stancil, Rose Goss and Audrey James.

A funeral service will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 4pm with Pastor Sam Duncan officiating. A private burial will be held at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
