Floyd Alvin Fancher, age 84 of Anderson, South Carolina died Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky. He was a retired baker working for the Bakery Production Department at Kroger and Klosterman Baking Company. Floyd was member of the Word Tabernacle Church in Anderson, South Carolina and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and carpentry. He was born December 5, 1938 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Cook) Fancher, Sr.
Besides his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by two wives – Stella (Manning) Fancher in 1992 and Helen (Day) Fancher in 2021, one daughter – Rebecca Fancher Fields, three grandchildren – Thomas Joseph Fields, Jr., Ashley Nicole Mounce and Joshua Moore, three great grandchildren – Jayce Bradford, Averianah Strange and Nathan Strange. Jr., four brothers – Vernon Fancher, Melvin Fancher, Sr., Raymond Fancher and Charles Fancher and two sisters – Opel June Fancher and Sheralyn Manor.
Mr. Fancher is survived by three children – Harry V. Fancher, Sr and wife Vicky of Williamsburg, Ohio, Glenn F. Fancher of Bethel, Ohio and Angela McConnell and husband Jackie of Georgetown, Ohio; eleven grandchildren – Robert Fancher, Jesse Strange, Nathan Strange, Kathy Falch, Harry Fancher, Jr., Travis Mounce, Samantha Fancher, Chelsea Fancher, Cara Fancher, Tasha Hodge and Aaron Moore; numerous great grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; three brothers – Ernest Fancher, Jr. and wife Sue of Hillsboro, Ohio, Virgil Fancher, Sr. and wife Gerry of Newtonsville, Ohio and Charlie Fancher and wife Kay of Hillsboro, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and his fur baby – Angel Fancher.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at the Word Tabernacle Church, 3616 South Main Street Anderson, South Carolina on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 3pm officiated by Pastor Gene Williams. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
