George Edward Lee, 76, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at his residence.
Born on December 12, 1949, in Richwood, West Virginia; he served with the New York Army National Guard for 12 years and enjoyed working with his son, Justin, in the concrete business. George loved being outside – working in the yard, building things, camping. Although he loved traveling, he was fine with just being home. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Golf, but what brought him the most joy was being around his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cheryl Lynn Lee; his children: Justin Edward Lee and Karla Nicole Woodard (Joe); brothers: James, Fred, and Steve Lee; sister, Linda Cline; grandchildren: Michael Woodard (Summer), Kristina Crago, Tyler Lee (Lauren), Kaila Lee, and Logan Lee; and great grandchildren: Clarklynn Roberts, Nicole Crago, and Karter Lee.
He is predeceased by his parents: Martin Veon and Virgina Lucille Lee; brothers: Richard and Roger Lee; and sister, Patricia Hahn.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 1pm at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory officiated by Pastor James Strickland. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11am – 1pm at the Mortuary on Saturday.
The family will be at the residence.
