George Moore Elgin, 86, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 26, 2017.
Born in Anderson, SC, on October 14, 1930, he was the spouse of Martha McAlister Elgin. George was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War. He was also retired from Owens Corning and a member of River of Life Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Stanley Elgin, daughter, Kim Martin (Cecil), step-son, Ken McAlister (Loes), step-daughter, Ann Buker (Larry), brother, Roger Elgin, granddaughter, Jenna Martin, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Anderson Elgin, daughter-in-law, Sandra Bolt Elgin, his parents, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at River of Life Church of God on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 12pm with Pastor Dale Dyar, and Pastor Jim Garner officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church from 11am to 12pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
