Helen DeVall Whitmire, 90, of Starr, SC went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at her home.
Born on April 18, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Carl Lee and Mettie DeVall and the wife to the late William Clarence “Bimbo” Whitmire. She was a charter member of Middleton Road Baptist Church, loved cooking, traveling and lovingly harassing her daughter, Jane. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and she loved them all.
She is survived by her son: Billy Ray Whitmire (Debra); daughter: Jane Sanders (Roy Ethridge); siblings: Janie Heatherly and John Harold DeVall; grandchildren: Brandon (Angie), Nathan (Melissa), and Whitney; great grandchildren: Taylor (Christina), Jaren, Carson, Cooper, and Olivia; numerous loved nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren by heart.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was predeceased by 11 siblings and her grandson: Patrick.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Middleton Road Baptist Church and will be officiated by Reverend Archie Sharpe, Reverend Ralph Carter, and Reverend Barry Davis. Burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 – 2pm, at the church.
The family will be at her home.

Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
