Howard Sidney “Red” Padgett, 85, of Anderson SC passed away on February 24, 2015 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Home.
Born on June 1, 1929, he was the son of the late James Oliver Padgett and Mary Jane Payne and the spouse to the late Isabelle Padgett. He was of the holiness faith, an avid hunter, fisherman and a US Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by a son: Tony M. Padgett (Terry), a step-son: Tommy Wood (Irene), brothers: J.O., Maxie, Gary, Jerry and Roger Padgett, sister: Beatrice Ellington, grandchildren, Alison White and Andrew Padgett and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and spouse, he is predeceased by a son: Ronnie Padgett, brothers: John David Padgett, and Leon Ray Padgett, and sisters: Hilda Brown and Elaine Richardson.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 1pm. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12pm to 1pm at the mortuary.
