Jack E Pate, 76, of Iva, SC passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home.
Born on September 2, 1943 in Kansas, he was the son of the late Harry Dale Pate and Lucy Evelyn Hoover Pate and the husband to Mary Faye Pate. Jack was a retired SFC E-7 in the US Army where he received the Soldier’s Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. Following his retirement in 1980, he worked at Pensacola Golf Course in Gulf Breez, FL, the City of Belton, High Meadows Golf Course, and Erskine College.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Thomas Edward Pate, Anthony Thomas Wells, and Gilbert Earl Wells; daughters: Jacki Lynne Pate and Lisa Ann Pate; 2 brothers; 1 sister; grandchildren: Tauni Pate, Justin Pate, Nathan Pate, Ryan Pate, Drew Campbell, Rachael Stow, Terry Stow, Jonathan Hamilton, Samantha Wells, Kayla McCall, Nikki Wells, Jesse Wells, Taylor Wells, Tyler Wells, Cole Wells, Kira Wells, Gage Wells, Megan Cleary, and Jordan Cleary; great grandchildren: Faylen, Noah, Natalie, Kaylen, Carson, Braelyn, Marlee, Bailee, Melissa, Kensley, Karter, and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Rocky River Baptist Church and will be officiated by Preacher Bobby Jones. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30pm – 1:30pm, at the church.
The family will be at the home.
