Mr. James (Jim) Edward Smith, 73, died on April 2, 2014, at his Central, SC, home.
He was born in Asheville, NC, on October 14, 1940, to Clara Bell Fox Smith and John William Smith, both now deceased.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marion Keough Smith; their daughter, Stephanie Lani Smith, of Raleigh, NC; a brother, William (Bill) Alfred Smith, and wife, Camille B. Smith, of Fairfax, VA; two half-sisters, Fannie Mildred Lovella Smith Moody of Asheville, NC, and Margaret Eloise Smith Pratt, of Dacula, GA; a sister-in-law, June C. Keough, of Phoenix, AZ; a brother-in-law, John D. Keough, and wife, Sue, of Newark, OH; plus nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 209 Sloan Street, Clemson, SC 29631. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, 586 Issaquenna Trail, Clemson, SC 29633.
To assist the family, a “Jim Smith Memorial Fund” has been established with the Regions Bank, 3404 Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621-4110, and the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to this fund in lieu of flowers.
