James Michael Smith October 30, 1971 - August 7, 2023

James Michael Smith, 51, of Starr, SC, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on October 30, 1971, in Abbeville, SC, he was the son of Douglas Harold Smith Sr and Mable Elizabeth Sutherland.

James was an equipment operator with Anderson County Public Works and a retired member of Grove and Iva Fire Department of the Anderson County Fire System.

He is survived by his wife: Toneka Lavette McGinnis Smith; son: William Austin Smith; daughter: Alexis Breanna Maroney; brother: Douglas Harold Smith Jr; nephews: Lee Smith and Travis Smith and niece: Beth Smith.

A memorial service will be held at the Iva City Fire Department on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 5pm with Firefighter Rites and officiated by Pastor Charles Howell.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
