Syble Lucille Murphy June 14, 1933 - August 9, 2023

Syble Lucille Hedden Murphy, 90, of Sandy Springs, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday August 9, 2023.

Born on June 14, 1933, in Central, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Olin Hedden and Beatrice Maybelle Hedden and wife of Rev. Gerald Forbes Murphy.

In addition to her husband, Gerald, she is survived by her daughters: Crystal Lynn Timms (Jimmy) and Sonya Marie Ledet (Bruce); Son-in-Law: John Bradford Peebles; Grandchildren: Crystal Teryna Cox (Trevor), John Bradford Peebles Jr (Kelly), Jacqueline Joyce Granger (Chris), William Kenan Ledet (Donella), and Abagail Marie Ledet; Great-Grandchildren: Jae Cox (Caroline), Katie Cox, Lucy Peebles, Liam Granger, Brady Peebles, and Ellie Granger; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her late, first Husband: Charles William Murphy; Daughter: Debra Joyce Peebles (Brad); and her Siblings: Buford Hedden, Alvin Hedden, Rachel Hedden, Betty Hamilton, and Gene Hedden.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday August 12, 2023, at Celebration Church, 6114 Clemson Blvd, Pendleton, SC, and will be officiated by Syble’s husband, Rev. Gerald Murphy. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Murphy’s home, from 2pm to 7pm Friday August 11, 2023.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
