Joann Lanier, 82, wife of Rev. Curtis “Horace” Lanier, of Anderson SC, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home.
Born in Anderson, SC, on September 6, 1940, she was a member of Burdine Road Church of God where she served as the pianist. She previously worked for JP Stevens and the School District.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: John Lanier (April); brother: Lamar Alexander (Pat); sister: Linda Grant (Ray) and her caregiver: Sandy Cobb.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Burdine Road Church of God from 5pm to 9pm.
The funeral service will take place at the Church on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 12:30pm with Rev. Eugene Dixon, Rev. Donnie Norris, Rev. Waldon Ruff and Rev. Russell Kinlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
