John Eddy Ricketts, 66, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away at 7:02 A.M. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, in 1958 to John Albert and Ruby B. Ricketts.
Eddy enjoyed working with his hands. A carpenter and home builder by trade, a mechanic, by necessity (often, by hobby). He was an avid hunter and fisherman, that always loved involving his friends and family in his excursions. He was an amazing father, friend, and teacher that allowed his knowledge and love to spread to everyone around him.
He is survived by his forever sweetheart: Vickie Ricketts; children: John Ricketts, Michelle Freelin, Kayla Wuehr, Cristy Davis, and Steven Driver; Eleven grandchildren and four great granchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Ruby Ricketts, as well as his sister, Sandra Gurley.
The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Mortuary.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
