Judy K. Haynes, 79, of Anderson SC, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at NHC Healthcare, Anderson.
Judy was born on December 5, 1946, in Anderson, South Carolina, to Kenneth and Catherine Potts Kirby. She pursued a career as a designer in the floral industry and was of the Baptist faith. Caring for infants brought her the greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lony G. Haynes; sons: Scott Haynes (Peggy), Jeffrey Haynes (Tammy), Michael Haynes (Jennifer), and Chris Haynes (Julia); brother: Harry Kirby; sisters: Shirley Fricks, Anna Margaret Swaney, and Jeanette Brown; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters: Mary Richey and Arlene Kirby.
A funeral service will take place at 3pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Bobby Byrum and Andrew Haynes, Judy’s grandson will be officiating.
Visitation will follow the service at the home of her son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Jennifer Haynes at 3990 Old Portman Rd Anderson SC 29626.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
