Kenneth Howard Gilstrap, 73, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home in Starr, SC.
He was born to the late Charlie and Guynell Sanders Gilstrap in Anderson, SC, on August 3, 1949. He was a member of Hebron UMC, an avid fisherman, hunter and loved collecting Native American Artifacts.
He served in the US Army and worked for over 20 years as a Building Inspector for the Anderson County Building and Codes Department.
He is survived by two sons: Ryan Kenneth Gilstrap (fiancé, Angela Brown) and Kyle Howard Gilstrap (Ashley Hayes Gilstrap); two brothers: James and Ronald Gilstrap; grandchildren: Sutton and Harper Gilstrap and Zoiee Parnell.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother: David Gilstrap.
A funeral service with Military Honors, will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 12:30pm with Rev. Dr. Mike Vandiver officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the South Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
