Larry Keith Powell, 70, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Powell was born on December 24, 1953 in Anderson, SC and was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Powell and Betty Jean Morton Powell. He was of a Godly heritage and well documented lineage of Powell men who both Founded our great nation and defended her as Patriots.
He is survived by his son, his only child, The Rev. Shannon Keith Powell (Miena) of Monroe, NC; his grandsons, Elijah S. Powell and Preston T. Powell; and his brother, Mark Anthony Powell (Rita) as well as other extended family.
Larry was a talented musician and found his passion as a percussionist (drummer). He played in bands during his youth and eventually used his gift in serving the local church.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, January 8, 2024 at the New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson, SC and officiated by The Rev. Ronnie Powell and The Rev. Shannon K. Powell.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
