Linda Lou Goodwin February 5, 1948 - April 15, 2019

Mrs. Linda Lou Goodwin, age 71 of Belton, SC passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 after an extended illness. Born on February 5, 1948, in Marion, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Claude Pruitt and Anna Mae Pruitt. Linda was married for 52 years to Jerry Thomas Goodwin, who made no secret that she was the absolute love of his life.

Linda was an extraordinary seamstress and so talented in many other ways; every one looked forward to her cooking, and no one ever left hungry. Her thoughtfulness and unwavering love for her family was always a priority. To know Linda was to love her, and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings Kent Pruitt, Harvey Pruitt, Betty Harmon, James Pruitt and Patsy Pruitt.

Linda is survived by five children, Wendy Page and her husband Brooks of Hartwell, GA; Missy Blackwell of Chester, NY; Jerry Goodwin and his wife Anastasia of Winona, MN; Scott Goodwin of Easley, SC; and Tina Newton and her husband William of Belton, SC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Benjamin Blackwell, Abigail Blackwell, William Page, Caroline Page, Ryoko Goodwin, Mila Goodwin, Ilya Goodwin, Joseph Goodwin, Emalyn Goodwin, Katherine Woolum, and Amelia Newton.

Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy Shephard and Violet Shephard both of Christiansburg, VA; Monnie Barker and Mary Osborne both of Marion, VA.; and Joanne Gwyn of Lincolnton, GA; brothers, Arthur Pruitt of Claremont, NC; Charlie Pruitt of Atkins, VA; and Bob Pruitt of Marion, VA.

Visitation will on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 6pm-8pm be at The Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel, in Anderson, SC.  The funeral will be at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2019 with the Reverend Roger Goodwin officiating.  The interment will follow in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC.

Pallbearers are Scott Goodwin, Jerry Goodwin, William Page, Michael Goodwin, Billy Hughes, and Gary Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Palladium Hospice and Palliative Care.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
