Marjorie Brown Hall (Marge) passed away at Marchbanks Assisted Living and Memory Care on January 5th in Anderson, SC. She was 93.

Marge was born on June 21, 1921 in Lindsey, OH to her parents Rev. Hubert and Opal (Putman) Williamson. She had twin sisters, Marie and Miriam, who were ten years older. Her mother died when Marge was 16 months old and her father remarried Lulu Witherup (known by all as Maca) when Marge was 3.  She attended Taylor University and graduated from Asbury College where she met and later married Devee Brown in 1943. They served with World Gospel Mission (WGM) for 36 years in Honduras,  on the Texas/Mexican border (McAllen) and then began the WGM Asbury Student Involvement Center in Wilmore, KY  and served there 10 years.  Devee initially retired in Wilmore, KY.  They subsequently moved to Sun City, AZ,   where they served at WGM’s Southwest Indian School.  Marge also spent time at retirement centers in Wilmore, Avon Park, Fl. and Americus, Ga.

Marge is survived by her son Paul Brown and his children Kelly Jo (husband Davis) Barnwell and their sons, Lawton and Layton, Shaun and his children, Andrew and Anna and great-great granddaughter Sunnie; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dr. Doug Joyner, and grandchildren Kristie (husband Evan) Hewitt and great-grandchildren Sloan and Sophia,  grandson Dr. Jeremy (wife Laura) Joyner and great-grandchildren Tyler, Cayce and Anna Kate and granddaughter and son-in law Megan and Josh Tarrant ; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Becky Brown and grandchildren Nathan (wife Katy), Sarah-Marie (husband Jon) Welch and great-grandchildren Jack, Isabella, Maria Kathryn,  Stevie (wife Jenny) Brown and great-grandchildren Eliana and Max, and Elizabeth and son and daughter-in-law,  Tim and Julie Brown, grandchildren TJ (wife Maryssa) Brown and great-grandson, Colter,  and Hannah, Laramie and Fionna.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Devee Brown in 1992 and second husband, Winfield Hall, who died in 2006, her twin sisters, Marie and Miriam and her daughter-in-law, Jo Brown.

Marge will be buried at the family private cemetery on Crooked Creek next to Devee at the “Resting Place” and a family memorial service will be held March 28th.
