Marlene Wright Hurt, 83, of Anderson, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born on March 29, 1938 in Hartwell, GA., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John N. and Inez Maxwell Wright. Marlene retired after 54 years of service from Singer, and was a former pianist and secretary at Macedonia Baptist Church for many years.

To those that loved and knew Marlene, she was their treasure. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James ‘Jim’ Hurt; son, Barron Hurt; sisters: Joyce Jennings and Kathy Craft; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 2:30pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ken Whitt. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the mortuary on Tuesday from 1pm to 2:30pm.

The family will be at their respective homes and ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Rainey Hospice House.
