Martha Renee Demerest Traynham April 21, 1968 - June 7, 2024

Martha Renee Demerest Traynham, 56, of Belton, SC passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Greenwood, SC on April 21, 1968, she was the daughter of Geneva Watts Lunsford and the late Mickeal Wayne Varnum Sr., she was the wife to Jamie Scott Traynham. Renee worked as a seamstress and mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service but later in life she became a devoted homemaker. She was also a member Riverside Baptist Church located on Holiday Dam Rd in Greenville County, S.C.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her sons: Gary Leon Demerest III (Dixie) and Brandon Acey Demerest (Michaela); son at heart: Matthew Minor (Val); brothers: Michael Wayne Varnam (Patty); sisters: Wanda Galey Young (Ken) and Leslie Ann Curry (Chris); step brothers: Larry Richard Reese “Ricky”, Arthur Leon Kay “Buddy”, Christopher Kay “Pete”, and Andrew Kay; grandchildren: Sara Eliabeth Demerest, Faith Ann Demerest and Levi Sean Demerest; stepmother: Peggy Jones Varnum; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her stepfather: Dennis Lee Lunsford; stepmother: Mary Beatrice Motes Varnum; stepsisters: Lisa Mullinax Hughes and Katherine Suzanne Jones; grandparents: Johnny and Geneva Watts.

The funeral will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Riverside Baptist Church Holiday Dam Rd, 1339 Holiday Dam Rd, Belton, SC officiated by Pastor Ryan Steed.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

The family will be the residence.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
