Melvin H. “Merk” Alexander, 63, of Iva, SC, passed away on Sunday October 22, 2023 at his home.
Born in Anderson, SC, on April 12, 1960, he was the son of the late Horace Alexander and Joyce P. Scott. Merk has lived and worked in the Iva and Moncks Corner communities all his life. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman and Nascar fan. Merk was loved by many generations.
He is survived by his Brother: Scotty Alexander and his wife Debora; Sister: LaJuana Smith; as well as two nieces, seven nephews and numerous great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Grandmother: Mary Zou Pressley; and Grandparents: Henry Frank and Grace Holmes Alexander.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday November 5, 2023 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Iva, SC officiated by Pastor Kempi Shepard.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
